Salmonberry Clear Sky Chart prediction for the next 48 hours

Salmonberry Star Party Location
Due to the growth of the trees in recent years, the horizon is occluded

There are no scheduled RCA star parties planned for this location at this time.

This location has often been used for impromptu star parties on the west side.

This open site is pretty good sized and is at 2250 feet of elevation. It has very good horizons, some blockage (15-20 degrees) to south and southwest. The southwest blockage is silhouetted by the Portland metro sky glow, reminding you that you aren't missing much.

There are no facilities at this location. The nearest gas station is in Banks.

There is no formal registration for the event itself, just show up and enjoy the evening. You don't even need a telescope to participate; other members are enthusiastic to share their views. This is a good opportunity for beginners to get acquainted.

Come and observe your favorite objects and spend a wonderful evening with friends, and friends you haven't met yet.

If you are new to observing here is some information on Star Party Etiquette, Star Party Supplies and Star Party Tips.

If you have any further questions email the Star Party Chairman.

From the intersection of Timber Rd and Hwy 26 (Look for Hildegarde's Country Inn), go 6.0 miles west on Hwy 26 (About ¾ mile past the view pullout) and past milepost 32.

As you approach the sixth mile, slow down, the turn drops off quickly and is hard to see in advance. If you come to Music road on the right you have gone too far.

Turn left (south) onto Salmonberry Road, which is a gravel logging road. Stay on Salmonberry road for 1.4 miles and then turn right onto a small road that quickly leads into a large turnoff area after about 200 feet to the west.
