There are no scheduled RCA star parties planned for this location at this time.
This location has often been used for impromptu star parties on the
west side.
This open site is pretty good sized and is at 2250 feet of elevation. It
has very good horizons, some blockage (15-20 degrees) to south and
southwest. The southwest blockage is silhouetted by the Portland metro
sky glow, reminding you that you aren't missing much.
There are no facilities at this location. The nearest gas station is
in Banks.
There is no formal registration for the
event itself, just show up and enjoy the evening. You don't even need a
telescope to participate; other members are enthusiastic to share their
views. This is a good opportunity for beginners to get acquainted.
Come and observe your
favorite objects and spend a wonderful evening with friends, and friends
you haven't met yet.
