Larch Mountain Star Party location

There are no scheduled RCA star parties planned for this location at this time.

However it is used often for impromptu star parties.

  • Take I-84 East towards Hood River.

  • Take exit #22 for Corbett. Zero trip meter at stop sign, where you turn right and head up the hill towards Corbett.

  • At 1.3 miles the road Y's.

  • Go left and then take a immediate left on to the Columbia Gorge Scenic Highway.

  • Zero trip meter and proceed for 1.9 miles to just past the "Portland Women's Forum State Park".

  • Take a right onto Larch Mountain road.

  • It is paved and marked with a sign. Follow the road to the top of Larch Mountain (14 miles). At the top you turn right just before the parking lot into a large unpaved open area. You are best advised to set up your telescope towards the east end to gain a clearer south horizon. 4000 feet elevation.
